I can never order pizza and not order breadsticks. Provided it’s pretty much the same thing, just without the sauce, that you ultimately end up dipping the breadsticks in, but they just taste so good! For me, it’s the garlicky butter. But as you guys know, I love making pizza at home, and for those days, I always make some cheesy breadsticks to go with. Here is a super simple recipe, something you’ll find yourself making as a side for so many things, Lasagne, Penne Alfredo, Tomato Basil Fettuccine and so many more dishes!
You will need:
1/2 batch pizza dough
2 Tblspn melted butter
1 Tblspn olive oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder or fresh crushed garlic
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt (add more if you’re using unsalted butter)
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried basil
1 cup shredded mozzarella
Make the dough and let it rise to double. Preheat your oven to 400 F.
Grease a metal baking dish and carefully roll out the dough or spread it out with your knuckles till it’s edge to edge.
In a small bowl mix together the melted butter, olive oil and all the seasoning. If you don’t have all th herbs you can add whichever one you have, just make sure it’s dried herbs. Spread the butter mix over the dough. Sprinkle with cheese(your an add more if you like).
Bake until the dough has cooked through and the cheese is starting to turn golden brown. Cut into slices and serve warm, with marinara sauce to dip.
